Bullants V Coburg
Body:
A slow start, yet another solid performance from the Bullants. VFL listed players dominated the Bullants best, which all goes well for the finals as the AFL contingent will be topped off with some talented players coming back from AFL duties. Ross Young was again outstanding and only needs a good finals series to be drafted, I suspect he'll get selected in the bottom half of the November draft. Daniel Harford and Josh Vansittart were other strong contributors in a win that never looked in doubt after the 20-minute of the first quarter. Coburg were game but Richmond's long injury list has taken its toll and subsequently they have fallen away after a great start to 2006. The Bullants used the match to get game time into players such as Anthony Hickey and Bronik Davies, the latter playing his best game at senior level. The second-half saw several players played out of position, including Dylan Mclaren who enjoyed his time up forward, finishing with six goals. Congratulations must go to Billy Micesvki who played his first senior game for the Bullants at the weekend. It's fair to say that Micevski would have one of the last players to make the 2006 list and didn't get a reserves game until mid year but some good efforts saw him selected at a time when the Bullants are flying, which underlines that his form has been very good. Attention now turns to the finals, where the Bullants host Williamstown at Preston this Saturday. [1.15pm start] Obviously a huge game, Geelong the dominant side in 2002, lost their first final after coming in with similiar form to the Bullants.
