Werribee v Frankston
RESERVES Werribee 4.2 9.6 14.9 18.16 (124) Frankston 6.5 10.6 16.11 16.13 (109) BEST: Werribee: Lyons Closter Gleeson Young Furfaro Long Frankston: Cadd Robertson Beasy McCormack Ongarello Kemperman GOALS: Werribee: : Closter 3 Lyons 3 Walsh 2 Long 2 Watts Burlak Stankovic Tiller Furfaro Twomey Richardson Thomas Frankston: McCormack 5 Beasy 4 Robertson 2 Burns Cadd Matheson Shilton Barrand Yet again Frankston lose because they don't take a full team into a match. They were fantastic, they played some terrific footy, but could manage just two behinds in the last quarter. One player on the bench, who was an injured man and no wonder they ran out of legs. Thats two wins they have handed Werribee this year by going in short on numbers. Surely they only need a couple of bodies on the bench in case of injury or to relieve players for a short time during a game. One more bloke gets injured and they play a man down. Geez maybe they should get their President to put a jumper on and stand in the pocket to at least take an opponent!!! It ruins any integrity we want to have in the reserves competition to see Frankston's approach to it. Anyway, in the part of the match I saw Ongarello was terrific. Werribee had a very good side in and should probably have won by more. Bulldogs Jesse Wells, Stephen Tiller, Tim Walsh and Rowan Nayna played, with other Werribee players who have played a bit of seniors like Furfaro, Closter, Lyons, and Dom Gleeson also in the line up. Full credit to Frankston how gallant they were, but there is only one reason why they lost that match today. SENIORS Werribee 5.3 8.4 14.8 18.10 (118) Frankston 1.2 6.7 8.7 13.10 (88 ) BEST: Werribee: Robertson Bandy Podsiadly O'Sullivan Wight Power Frankston: Hynes Berry Mizzi Murphy Goddard Skehan GOALS: Werribee: Podsiadly 6 Murphy 4 Rawlings 2 Bandy 2 Robertson Castello Allan O'Sullivan Frankston: Berry 6 Mizzi 2 Murphy 2 Fortnam Pollard Skehan Went the way most would have expected but Frankston were pretty good, and deserve a shot at the finals. Hynes was super across half back, not sure how many possies but I'd say a lot. Justin Berry chiming in with 6 goals and had the better of his opponents. I'm a big fan of Pollard, who was good when oved forward after half time, so terrific overhead, it's bad luck the injuries haven't helped him but he's a super grab. For Werribee I thought it was fairly even, obviously Podsy with 6 goals was handy and beat three opponents in Ulms, Pollard and Odell. Brad Murphy kicked four goals in a wing/half forward role. Daniel Bandy did his job in the ruck and kicked a couple. Travis Robertson always handy in defence, Hassan was in and out but decent enough at times, same for Jaison Lamb who uses his explosive pace effectively a couple of imes out of the middle late in the game. Good match, decent crowd. Both sides have a good run of home games out of the last three rounds - Frankston don't travel again, while Werribee play Geelong and Coburg at home. That should help both in the run to the finals.

Footyman obviously got to the ground a bit late to see the players taken to the hospital after a head clash in the first quarter. But don't worry about it, because that would have made the rest of your comments redundant. I agree that the seconds have gone in way too many games this year short on the bench, but get the facts first. Good report on the seniors though. I thought we had it (again) 10 minutes in to the last Q until Malloy and Fortnam limped to the bench. Malloy, especially was strong in the middle all day. ...........and by the way, the president is way to slow, old and fat to even make it to the pocket!

I did get to the ground a bit too late but given the times Frankston has done it this year is simply expected they would have done it again. Who was injured? Reagrdless, you'd have won had you not had the injuries affect the bench. Agree with you on Bevan Malloy, Ash Roberts was another who did some decent things. Good list the Dolphins have built, when there are also some decent players in the reserves like Robertson, Kemperman, Burns, McCormack. Where was Marigliani today and also Falovic and Greenstreet (were either of them taken off in the ressies)? While I'm at it, both sides had poor accuracy of the team lists in the senior game list for the Record today. Frankston had 4 who weren't listed and I think Werribee was the same.
Good list the Dolphins have built, when there are also some decent players in the reserves like Robertson, Kemperman, Burns, McCormack.
Was McCormacks first game in about 5/6 weeks, and the other 3 have been in and out a bit. [quote:d5e7baed72="footyman"] Where was Marigliani today and also Falovic and Greenstreet (were either of them taken off in the ressies)?
Marigliani went to the hospital after the first quarter, and Greenstreet's injury didn't come up. As for Falovic, the kid seems a little confused about where his future lies, and what he needs to do to get there. The way it works is that the clubs nominate a list of players at the start of the year that they expect to play seniors and this is used for the "Senior" list in the record. As players step up during the year, the record dosn't change. I agree that its a bit annoying.

Thanks Dolphin. Shame about Falovic, he's been a much talked about player down there so hopefully things go his way, he's got a lot going for him with his size. And the Record, yeah I guess if it is Football Vic's responsibility they should tidy them up a bit. For example Werribee's list has Cameron Faulkner on it, well he stuffed a shoulder playing for the Bulldogs a month ago and is gone for the year so he shouldn't really be there. Mitch Hahn won't be back there this year, he got dropped for a few weeks for discipline that was weeks and weeks ago now. Doubt we'll see Skipper there this year either. I'm not as sure of Frankston's situation but I guess little things like the Footy Record are areas the VFL lets itself down in.
