For the VFL sides...
Saturday 14th April
Werribee v Burnie (TSL) - Venue TBC - 11am start
Saturday 12th May
Williamstown v South Adelaide (SANFL) - MCG - 11am start
Saturday 19th May
NT Thunder v Port Melbourne - Darwin - 11am start
The rumours were true... the Borough is travelling to the top end!
Some questionable fixturing in the Foxtel Cup.
Port Melbourne and Williamstown are in the same quarter of the draw meaning if they both win their first game they will meet in a quarter final. No other two teams from the same league can meet before the semi final. This should have been the case for Port and Willy too.
Werribee would be pretty happy having drawn Burnie whichever state its played in
Plus nice early starts - 11:05am!
And nearly forgot,
The top 4 SANFL clubs (Central Districts, Norwood, Glenelg and Woodville-West Torrens) who chose not to compete are PATHETIC!!!
same as last year sammy must be something in the water over there

They are all shit scared of going over.
Rather sit back & say they are the best league outside of the AFL.
I'm sure the draw is loaded so that Port Melb & Willy won't play off for the final embarassing all other states.
Whoever wins that game will win the final.
What happened to the Bullants ???
We might be from the bush. but we ain't green
Eep! How is it that Port have to travel to Darwin? If the game was down here in the cooler climate I reckon we'd thrash them silly. But up in Darwin with the heat. It makes for a much tighter tussle IMO.
Still... I'll probably try to get the time off to fly up there :)
* It's time to restore the VFA name.

Who are the Bullants?
No Roosters either next year. The Bullants are no longer, plus the Blues wouldnt investment money in their reserves to play foxtel cup games.
I was under the impression that the Bullants finished third, but after the finals wash up it was actually Werribee who finished in third place, The Bullants fourth & the Roosters fifth.
We might be from the bush. but we ain't green
Central Districts are weak as piss.
Woodville West Torrens Eagles not much better.
Good to see Werribee in the Foxtel Cup.
The bees won the Premiers Cup back in 1993 with a win over North Ballarat at the MCG.

Actually that game was the first game played at the opening of the new great southern stand. The game was a curtain raiser to the Melbourne - Geelong game.
Great trivia question.
The year was 1992.
The less said about the result the better.

I won't mention the margin in that game Digs.
Fot trivia buffs North Ballarat beat Vermont in the semi final ?
I watched a few games in this including Lalor v Wangaratta Rovers at Lalor as well as Vermont v Seymour at Lilydale. Both games were very well attended.
