Dollies fall to Bombers

From Frankston Hastings Leader
Reported by Simon McEvoy

MICHAEL Hibberd last season went to war with the Dolphins but on Sunday he was the enemy, as part of the Bendigo Bombers team.

It must have been a strange feeling battling against his mates, but this is the modern game -– and popular ‘‘ Hibbo’’ is chasing his dream.

Playing his first game of the season after a quad strain, Hibberd was among the Bendigo Bombers’ best players in their 52-point win over Frankston in VFL round three.

Ben Wants Something To Crowe About

From VFL Website

Ben Crowe is a driven man. He doesn’t like spin and he’ll only talk about the positives if they really are positive, not straws clutched at amongst an ocean of negatives as Paul Kennedy finds out.

So while the Dolphins may well have improved greatly in their second round match against Sandringham and nearly pinched a victory, for Crowe it isn’t yet good enough. “To be honest we didn’t have enough players carry the load,” he said.
