The Borough continued their good form at reserves level, posting a 5 goal win in good conditions.
Listed amongst the best, Pinwill, Rudd, Gibson and Hooker were excellent and all would be close to selection in the seniors, I thought Rudd and Gibson were particularly good. Ramsay also played well, as did Robbie Alexander. I thought Blake Grima was ok, but would not have listed him amongst the best. Anthony Aloi had a good return to goal form in his first game back after injury slotting though 4 goals. Nick Thomas also kicked 4 for the game, and put his name up as a real option up forward in the seniors. Gill was singled out at 3/4 time as needing to lift.
In what was a real scare, Scott Howard was rushed to hospital by Ambulance with a suspected fractured neck but was cleared on any serious damage.
I think the club will start blooding a few more from the reserves now, with a couple of weeks of indifferent form from players several players including North Melbourne players). Rob Cheevers provided a bit of a spark with his time back in the ones, and should keep his place for next week, at Punt Road Oval.
Im not sure when the last time Port played at PRO, Richmond, the last I can think of is the 1976 Grand Final, have they played a game there since then?
