A terrific game of footy at TEAC Oval with Bendigo proving too strong on the day.
The first half of the game was played in brilliant sunshine, the game was very even in the first half, but Bendigo got away from the Borough in the first 15 minutes of the third quarter, kicking away and looking like they could go on to post a big win. However, the Borough regrouped, and trailed by less than three goals at 3/4 time.
The margin was reduced to just 3 points, and the game became a goal-for-goal affair, until the Bombers pulled away to post a good win.
Despite the Borough losing what was a very important game, there were several positives, second gamer Gary Johnstone performed very well, while debutants Marcus Carroll and Stephen Henshaw showed encouraging signs.
I should also mention some very poor decisions were made by the umpires, including Robin Nahas penalised for holding the ball, after taking no more than 1 step at pace. Baffling stuff that had the crowd baying for blood.
