Box Hill Hawks Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of Steve Kenna for the next two seasons.
Kenna, 25, spent the last three seasons in the SANFL with South Adelaide where he established himself as a standout midfielder/small forward finishing runner-up in the prestigious Magarey Medal in 2006.
He joined South Adelaide in 2005 after one season at AFL club Carlton after being drafted from Box Hill Hawks after the 2003 VFL season.
In his one year with the Hawks, Kenna played in all 22 matches including the VFL Grand Final, won the club’s Best first Year Player Award and was the Leading Goal Kicker with 45 goals.
Kenna is a welcome addition to the young Hawks list and is delighted to be joining the club which gave him the opportunity to play at the highest level.
“I am very happy to be back playing at the club where I enjoyed great success,†Kenna said.
“In my one year, I had a really enjoyable season…. It is a great club, with a great atmosphere and great people and it was the only club I really wanted to play for ,†he said.
Kenna now joins his team mates in waiting for the announcement of the new senior coach.
