What a game..
The Vics, mainly due to an outstanding spell by Dirk Nannes was able to restrict NSW to 128, finishing with 4 for 11 (about). A great spell of bowling, and the Vics looked to have a very gettable target to chase.
But the Vics did themselves no favours, 3 runouts, with the most critical - Brad Hodge run out for single figures.. It brought NSW right back into the game with the slightly weaker batting line-up.
But the Vics fought back, Finch, Quiney and Crosswaite all contributing..
The game was back to about a run a ball 4 overs out, but Crossy stupidly through his wicket away with an ugly shot, exposing all 3 stumps.
Now the Vics are in danger of missing out altogether, with Wednesdays prelim final, a must win to qualify for ICC Championship.
Harwood gave the Vics a sniff.. 16 needed off the last over, and hit a towering six, bringing it back to 10 needed off 5 balls.
But Harwood was stumped, needing 4 runs off 2 balls. NSW went on to win in an amazing game of cricket.
If missed it, and have a chance to watch the replay on Fox Sports 3, its well worth effort.
Good to see McGain back in the side, and the two spinners (Holland) bowled really well.
