Body:
I attended Geelong v North Ballarat on Saturday 8/4. At Bob Davis gate, no one seemed to know how to deal with visiting club's members.
Eventually I got in via a "no bags" entry without my bag being looked at - or parting with any money!
Open seating for visiting members was in what appeared to be a wedge-shaped area just to left of goals (green area behing red 11 on map on VFL web site). It was awkward to see the big screen display of the match as it was behind me, so I suggest small binoculars would be useful to see the far end of the ground. The area allocated also started to fill with Geelong and Kangaroos supporters during the VFL match. It was a designated wet area.
I find these curtain raisers emphasise the "AFL Reserves" tag commonly given to the VFL. Playing a curtain raiser certainly does not lend itself to being a seperate competition.
At $3.50 for less than 2/3 of a page of VFL team lists and a "score card", the AFL Record is ultra-extremely poor value. I had downloaded the VFL Record, but this method doesn't give team lists.
I have suggested to the VFL that team lists be handed to patrons entering in the 1/4 hour entry period before 10.30am (when VFL admission cost changes to AFL cost).
