VFL R19 - Frankston v Port Melbourne
Body:

I wasn't able to make the trip down tonight, but once again it looked a very strong (and loud) Dolphins crowd. Frankston have made night footy their own in recent years and it's great to see it being so strongly supported.

I thought that the result would go Frankston's way, and the margin felt about right.

It was a shame that Anastasio didn't get to celebrate his 150th game with a win. Congratulations Red on an outstanding VFA/VFL career.

I hope the Dolphins get to play a home final. The place would go off I reckon.

I only got to tune in hear and there tonight, so I'll have to watch the game during the week to make an assessment on where Port lost the game, and where Frankston won.

Billy Gowers looks to have given himself a great chance of winning the Frosty Miller if he slotted 7 goals tonight.

Frankston’s biggest score since Round 15 2022, last time they kicked 100+

Frankston are almost there but not yet so still not saying the W word?

Dolphins really getting it together now. Excellent four quarter effort with almost every player making a good contribution. They even kicked straight! That passage of pay half way through the second quarter when they ran the ball from half back along the Grandstand side, resulting in a George Grey goal was just outstanding. Will be in this weeks highlight reel for sure.

How good is Tom Murphy. Getting better every week - if he's not AFL standard now then Im a poor judge. Looked head and shoulders above everyone else last night. Mynott fantastic, Grey, Quirk (despite a heavy tag) were really good.

While our midfield and forward line are strong we really have some issues in our backline. Without Williams we looked very vulnerable. Our small backs are great, Voss, Milne , Grey, but the talls are tryers who battle hard but lack a little class. Highest priority for next year is drafting key defenders.  Not sure of the thinking behind leaving Moran on Gowers all night. Ollie is not the right type of player for that job and was clearly out of his depth. Stainthorpe may have been a better option who could have gone with him in the air.

Dolphs will really push Footscray next week. Doggies will want to be on their game.

I was there last night. How good was the kicking by both teams last night. Port Melbourne were good up until half way through the second quarter. Frankston eventually got on top. The scoreboard at half time looked great with an accurate display by both teams. Good crowd again last night. Probably the best footy Frankston is now playing in well over 15 years. More direct footy, players can take strong marks. They can definitely beat Footscray next week and might have to rely on gold coast and Richmond on losing to get a home final. The joint would be rocking for sure. Anastasiou 'redder has been great with first Williamstown and now port to reach 150 games. Could have easily added another 20 to 30 games on that as he has had  some injuries. Love to see him get 200 games. Tall ask but no reason why not.

What a night! Got to agree with the summation on Murphy - he was scintillating last night with his run and accurate passing. Poise in the contest too. Grey, Milne, Quirk, all outstanding. The defending on Gowers was the lowlight, without doubt. Absolutely outpointed in every contest with him - trying to stand him too close where he can muscle you out of a contest easily. Really not clever stuff. I hear Noah Gown was concussed, which is a definite downer, he's been doing some great muscle work up forward for us. Good to see Butland back and providing some great contests to keep the ball locked inside our 50.

Anastasio, nothing but admiration for the bloke, and congrats to him on his milestone. He still remains a slippery little bugger and we were lucky to keep him on the leash last night.

If we can tighten the defence again we stand a chance against the Dogs. If not, we'll get blown away. Our midfield is in great form and can match anyone right now. Should be a great contest to close out our regular season at home.

Need a lot to go our way to get a home final, but wouldn't that be an experience! Nothing is for sure yet, still need GWS to get rolled twice to be sure of a wildcard, but that seems very possible. Exciting times, no question of that.

Absolutely rapt to have 10 wins for the first time in 18 years. 2024 is already up there as one of the best seasons in my lifetime.

Gowers had more impact than I would like, but that's really the only shortcoming from yesterday's game. Johnson was damaging as always, and once again we show just how many guys we have that can score.

GWS will have to have a miracle run to push us out of finals now. Still want to see us take it to Footscray next week just to settle any doubts and maybe even pinch a home final if we get lucky with other results.
