The rumour that Carlton may have only been granted a VFL reserves license if they stood alone this season got me thinking.
The reserves competition has ten teams, playing in a 20 round season.
If more teams were to come into the competition, who would they be, and where would they come from ? Could you bring country sides in as an experiment?
I dont think metropolitan and country competitions would want a representative side fielded for an entire season.
