Horrible news for Port Melbourne's Laura Wright, injuring her knee on Wednesday nights main training session before the Grand Final and will miss the game and most likely all of 2024.
Hey Sandrige, nice nickname BTW- used to go watch Sandrige all the time as a kid both at training and match day, tough bunch of blokes.
The Port Melbourne players like the men's side have no affiliation with a AFL club (after parting ways with Richmond), therefore they play for Port Melbourne only.

THE VFLS MOST SUCCESSFUL CLUB - THE MIGHTY PORT MELBOURNE BOROUGH!
I'M PORT MELBURNE BORN, I'M PORT MELBOURNE BRED, I'LL BE PORT UNTIL I'M DEAD!!!
That's really impressive if they managed to win the flag without any AFLW players! I imagine most other teams would have had a fair few AFLW listed players in their squads.
I've just finished watching the replay. Amazing game of footy. Terrific pressure put on Collingwood with O'Keefe racking up 17 tackles and McKellar strong down back.
I thoughts Port's skill level was better than the Magpies, whose forward entries and ballo movement was more about quick movement long kicking that created some unpredictable entries.
When Borg missed the goal from short range midway through the last, I thought the tide might have turned but full credit to her and the rest of the side that never let up.
Hopefully next year the women's games bring in 'time on'.
I normally take a couple of photos at each game was obviously too caught up in the game and forgot!
Digs yes mate, you read my mind - I was thinking of this yesterday and I believe if Williamstown increases their premiership count by adding the 2 division 2 flags to their tally then we have every right to ad the women's premiership as well - so their you have it, it's 18 now !!!!
It's not all good news though Digs my great pal, we have unfortunately run out of room in our trophy cabinet - I'm guessing you've got some for sale due to having no use for them ?

Best of luck to the Borough girls!
Should be a good crowd on Sunday. The weather looks good which should help draw a few neutrals through the gates.
* It's time to restore the VFA name.

In a typical low scoring grind, the Borough are VFLW Premiers for 2023!!!
* It's time to restore the VFA name.
I'll post up my thoughts on the game once I get a chance to re-watch it. Absolutely wrapt with the win.

Is there a way to see which AFLW teams the Port Melbourne players play for?

The odds certainly were stacked against Port and its been a helluva performance to win only 3 seasons in.
Fair chance we will lose a few players to the AFLW draft. Caruso after her BOH performance would a huge chance.

For an old VFA codger like me it was good to see an old style VFA type Sunday crowd at North Port. Oval again.
It is a pity those days are well gone and in the past for the current VFL/ex VFA teams,
Will the Sheila's premiership be added to your list now Mega ?

Yes was indeed a great time for North Melbourne football club. Probably gave them (false) hope of that success transitioning to their firsts.

Good to see you two at it again!!
We have been through that before Mega !
Seven North Melb rookies does not make it North Melbourne.
Two failed attempts from Port could not make it work previously.
Good to see it still burns in your guts to see a team of bush kids flog the great Bourough.
