Great to see 14-8 breakdown instead of 12-10 rule.
Not for any other reason than the fact that the best team was selected - having players like Gibson and Thewlis running around in he twos was silly - Thewlis added midfield power to a midfield that had been lacking in recent weeks so too did Gibson across half back and around the middle,it gave forwards like Harding,Pitt,Mckernan,McIntosh better use of the footy,as well as releasing pressure off the defence who had the footy coming down 100 miles an hour.
David Pitt seems to play better when there is less pressure on him as a sole key forward target.
Also the fact that Aloi was able to be selected on merit was good as well,he is important to the half forward line as he plays tall, has strong hands and quick hands in the packs.
All in all the team looked better balanced and it was easy the best and strongest team selected for the year to date - and the result proved.
Surprised to see Rudd dropped although
Thoughts anyone?
