Robbie McComb from the Bulldogs and Spencer Johnson from the Bullants are the two latest signings.

Handy pick-ups! McComb is a good VFL level footballer who should slot in nicely.

In some more good news for Port, it appears that fans were either misled or Signorello has changed his mind as the club has today confirmed that he has re signed. Will Port Melbourne be able to sign that elusive key forward they have struggled to find since Jordan Lisles departure.

Flynn Kroegar from Geeling has signed with Port. Flynn has had two major injuries and as a result has only played 3 games the past two seasons for Geelong VFL.

Felix Flockart has resigned for Port. Whilst a capable ruck man I still believe a key ruckman to make up for the loss of Naismith would be beneficial.

Sam Green from Clarence in Tas could be a good signing for Port. A very versatile big man who can play all three lines and is a great competitor. Has been consistently amongst the best players in Tas for 2-3 years and should be ready to step up at 22-23yo. Hopefully he has a great year.

Port have lost some good talent but look to have recruited well so far. Hopefully the issues of getting them on the ground like we had last year doesn't occur in 2024.

I've just renewed my Borough membership for 2024. Hoping for a proper update from the club in the upcoming AGM in December. Normally it's an entertaining event when the floor gets opened for questions from the attending members!

New signings at the Borough include:

Guy Barnes from Peel Thunder, a 177cm mid/forward

"Barnes joins after 5 years in the WAFL at South Fremantle and more recently with Peel Thunder, where opportunity at league level was limited due to the alignment with Fremantle AFL.

Finishing third in Peel’s 2023 reserve Best and Fairest, Barnes is a strong bodied and zippy player with plenty of pace and a booming boot, which is sure to excite Borough fans in 2024."

Lachie Rankin a 183cm defender from the Sydney Swans

"Silky running defender Lachie Rankin is the latest addition to the Borough, committing to the club for season 2024 after two seasons in the AFL System with the Sydney Swans.

Playing 20 games at VFL level in 2023, Rankin averaged 19 disposals a game at close to 80% efficiency, his run & carry and skills, particularly by foot are a key strength, which will be an asset for the Borough."

Sam Philp 186cm midfielder from Carlton

"Former first round draft pick Sam Philp has joined the Borough for season 2024, adding to the clubs midfield stocks.

After being drafted at Pick 20 in the 2019 AFL National Draft, Philp has spent the past 4 seasons on Carltons AFL list and will bring experience, elite ball use and speed, recording the quickest speed in the 20m sprint in his years draft combine."

I remember hearing his name. Played a couple of games for Frankston at one point but spent most of his playing time in the VAFA. Sounds like he had some bad luck with injury this year. Should be a good pickup for Port if he stays fit.
