Just pulled this off Superfooty. Bad luck for Davenport, but I reckon he'll attract interest in the drafts.
GEELONG has delisted four players, including retired premiership forward Nathan Ablett. Midfielder Jason Davenport and the rookie listed Liam Bedford and Chris Kangars were the other players cut from the Cats' squad.
Ablett did not play this year after helping the Cats to the premiership in 2007 and has told the club he does not wish to continue with his career. He kicked 46 goals in 32 AFL games after debuting in 2005.
Davenport spent three seasons with the Cats – one as a VFL player, one as a rookie and this year on the senior list. He did not play an AFL game but did play in two NAB Cup matches and 63 VFL contests.
He was a member of the Cats 2007 VFL premiership team and won the club’s VFL best and fairest this year
