First Loss For Bullants!
Body:
The Bullants first loss of the season came as the club visited the new Casey Fields facility for the first-time. The Bullants went into the game missing VFL regulars Josh Vansittart, Frank Raso, Ross Young and Josh Houlihan and were never able to match Casey's on-ballers. Vetran Justin Peckett and first season local Kyle Matthews were outstanding for Casey. Playing on a wing, the lightly framed Matthews towelled up Jordan Russell with his ability run and carry the ball getting Casey across the line in a tight finish. The Bullants started well and looked to have a class edge, but early into the second term the rain came and suddenly the Bullants looked slow and very top-heavy. The loss of Daniel Harford [Heavy Concussion]compounded the Bullants problems, as Caesy piled on eight unanswered goals to take a 27-point lead into the amin break. In the early stages of the third term Casey kicked out to a game high 33-point lead, but with the weather clearing and the game slipping away the Bullants responded and were within striking distance at the last change. Again Casey started well and lead by 19-points after a freakish goal from Biagi. The Bullants fought hard and willed themselves to within 3-points at the 16-minute mark after a brillant mark and goal from David Teague. The effort to get back into the game told and Casey again steaded, Biagi again stepping up to kick game defining goals. Despite losing the Bullants were brave and but for a woeful 20-minutes of football they probably had the better of Casey. Casey though are a club going places. The new facility is well placed to take advantage of a growing population and it's only a matter of time before Casey are one of the power-houses of the VFL. The Bullants face Frankston at Preston next week in what shapes as a challenge. The 12/10 rule will test the Bullants as Raso, Vansittart and Young will miss, with Harford and Houlihan in doubt.
