On last night's form the dolphins should be too good for spoon favourites north Melbourne at Arden street next week. I'll try to get to that game.

The Dolphins faithful have waited a long time to see a game like that. Fast and skilful footy - great to watch and getting the right result. Coburg were good too, (how good is Lentini) and had as many scoring shots as Frankston but missing easy shots at goal, especially in the first half cost them,  but no doubt the better team on the night won. If the Dolphs can continue to play at that level they will certainly win a few more matches this year.

They still have Jacobs to come into the side, and Hiscock and Williams to return to the backline which will toughen them up further. They looked a little undermanned in defence and Coburg were able to score against them too easily at times.

Gotta love Danny Ryan's coaching, hes got everything spot on, and the move of playing young Rendell as a defender on McEvoy was a ripper. McEvoy has destroyed Frankston by himself  a few times over the last few years but he was under control all night and even though he got two goals he didnt do much damage.

Its unbelievable to see how far Frankston FC has come since it almost went toes up in 2016. The social rooms were almost full, the terraces were chockers, the lights, an unbelievable atmosphere and a team playing good football.

Just a fantastic night of footy.

Aspley 10.1.61
Port Melbourne 2.1.13

Pretty good crowd at Aspley considering the suburb only has about a population of around 13,000 and RL is suspposed to be the main code in QLD!

Well after being critical of the lack of coverage for our game against Aspley.. A YouTube stream went up. I probably would have been happier if it hadn't 😊

I only saw parts of the game after half time but we were comprehensively outplayed and appeared to be uncompetitive against a fast, accurate and skilful Hornets team.

A few missing from the Borough but even if fully fit, I still reckon Aspley would have run out winners.

A lot of work to do for the Borough if we are to bounce back next week.

Aspley looked good and will be hard to beat at home.

* It's time to restore the VFA name.

I'm taking a look at both the Brisbane v Essendon and Sydney v GWS games. Always interesting to see games played at different grounds.

I gotta say, the coverage by media and social media has been terrific. Only the Carlton v Southport game has missed out thus far. We'll be doing ok if that keeps up!

Going to be unpredictable from week to week. Southport knocked off Carlton, apsley thrashed port. From 8 games reckon I have picked only 2 winners.

vfa, Typical AFL Vic stuff up.

With such a lopsided draw with all teams not playing each other even once and multiple byes I think it will be hard to work out true form!

The finals could end up a shambles with some teams out of the depth.
