Yes for sure I would have Casey a clear favourite. Very early days though and a few injuries things can change very quickly.

Williamstown 15.17.107 defeated Port Melbourne 10.9.69

PM BEST: Eli Templeton, Ben Jolley, Anthony Anastasio, Harvey Hooper, Dirk Koenan, Nash Holmes.
PM GOALS: Hooper 2, Koenan 2, Signorello, Delahunty, Anastasio, Holmes, J. O’Sullivan, Templeton.

Williamstown too classy on their nice new surface! 1-2 for Port Melbourne puts pressure on to make finals, with a Final 8 and 22 teams competing. The bye for Port comes at a good time, with key players missing at both ends of the ground.

I'll post my thoughts on the game tomorrow after I have had time to reflect!

I'm loving Frankston's early form this season.  Really hoping they can maintain this and make finals.  Must be a great feeling around the club.

NorthPort, it was amazing down there tonight. This was the team's first big test....down early against a bigger side with a dominant forward. At half time you wondered if the bad old habits would kick in (lack of djscipline) but the boys fought like tigers and harrassed Aspley out of it. After the siren was about as loud as I've ever hard the crowd at home with the Frankston chant resonating and even the hill belting out the club song. Massive game against Willy next Saturday is probably gonna tell us if we're the real thing or not. We do lack height in the backline and were exposed for a half tonight, but sheer tenacity is gonna see this team through often. Gee I wish I'd thrown a few bucks on at the 300/1 I saw preseason! Go you mighty Dolphs!!

What a great second half by the Dolphins! Class football, with a number of players unsighted in the first half waking from their slumber, they poured the pressure on Aspley who had no answer. Any team coming to Skybus Studium this year is in for a very tough time.

Josh Newman is having a great year so far. Ran amok wth 13 possesions in a sensational first quarter effort. Hard to believe hes not on an AFL list.

Looks like the push in the back rule is dead and buried or maybe its the inequality in how forward v defender contests are judged. Its ok for a forward to push his opponent in the back going for a mark, but if the defender touches his opponents arm, or looks at him the wrong way he is penalised. It was infuriating to watch what Hammelmann got away with it in the first half. His first three goals came from marks after he blatantly pushed Rendell in the back, and the fourth he flung him to the ground before the ball got there. On each occasion there was an umpire within 20 metres of the contest. Actually, the less said about the VFL umpires the better.

Looking forward to the game against Willy next week. If they can reproduce their second half form from this week The Dolphins will be very competitive.

All perfectly summed up Bearsman. Josh was incredible last night, great captain's example. I fear we're gonna lose him though....tenacious two way players are a rare breed for recruiters these days.

I took a multi yesterday werribee, Williamstown and Frankston. Odds were just under $8. All three saluted. Werribee made Richmond look second rate, Williamstown strong finish and Frankston big second half. What was the crowd at both Williamstown and Frankston last night ?
