Ports 2002 VFL GF line-up

Does anyone here have any idea of Port Melbournes 2002 Grand Final line-up. Can not find it ANYWHERE on the net. Hoping some of you Burra fans might be able to help me. All i know Port were the Sydney swans reserves that year. Did Plugger play in the granny?

You're looking for trouble there mate. That's like red rag to a bull.
Port were certainly NOT the Sydney Swans reserves.
They had an alignment with the Swans to play the non AFL players. I can see the smoke coming out of their ears from here. I think that they will understand what you were trying to say.

Port Melbourne:- Named Side:-

Backs: O'loughlin. Ablett. O'Keefe
Half Back:- McPherson. Rix. Anstey.
Centre:- Obst. Alexander. Filandia
Half Forward:- Gill. Evans. McInerney.
Forward:- Sundqvist. Brockman. Robertson.
Foll:- Barry. Rose. Stevens.
Inter:- Buchanan. McMahon. Cotchett.

You would need the team sheet to see who actually played.

Geelong:- 15-15-105
Port Melb:- 12-11-83

Best Geelong:- Rahilly. Slade. Mensch. Bartel. Chapman. McGrath.
Best Port Melb:- Brockman. Obst. Rose. O'Loughlin. McMahon. O'Keefe.

Goals Geelong:- Mensch 3.S.Johnson 2. Ablett. Chapman. Chatfield. Gardiner. Hunt. McCarthy. McGrath. O'Brien. Slade. White.
Goals Port Melb:- Stevens 2. Gill 2. Evans. Ablett. O'Keefe. Rix. Buchanan. Schneider. Robertson. Phibbs.

Look at the list of Geelong's best players as well as goalkickers.
Bartel, Chapman, Mensch, Steve Johnson, Tim McGrath, Ablett which is more than a fiar lineup. For Port there was Ryan O'Keefe, Amon Buchanan with a young Ryan McMahon on the bench. Port had a huge chance to go a couple of goals up in the last quarter but a shot at goal by Ricky O'Laughlin missed. Paul Chapman also slammed into Filandia. Port had their chances to win this. Geelogn had a super side as most of them from the vfl GF went on to be household names and be a part in Geelong's 2007 AFL flag. Plugger played twice for Port. He played on Brian Harris now Brian Lake against Werribee at Teac Oval. Then played the next game against Essendon at Windy Hill.

digs Thank you very much for that. The truth is, i didnt know how to spell alignment lol. I apologise to burra fans, i hope you know what i was trying to say.

I was watching a bit on youtube just before. They played Ports theme song after the game for about 10 seconds before putting Geelongs on.

Their were a fair few cats fans there by the look of it.
