BIG improver Frankston continued its remarkable hoodoo over the Coburg Tigers after posting a come-from-behind 16-point win at Frankston Oval yesterday.

Kyle Martin and Robert Clements led the way in the Dolphins' breakthrough win of the season as the perennial cellar-dweller continued its dominance over Coburg, now winning the past three encounters.

Frankston's only two wins of last season came against Coburg. The Dolphins with the breeze in the final term overcame a 10-point deficit at the last change to win, 10.16 (76) to 9.6 (60).

Dolphins coach Simon Goosey believes the club is destined to beat another team in the competition apart from the Tigers this year.

"It's not just Coburg, we've actually played some really good football without getting the chocolates," Goosey said.

■Rebounding St Kilda defender James Gwilt provided a solid first-up performance in Sandringham's 19-point loss to Williamstown at Trevor Barker Beach Oval yesterday.

Gwilt, on return just eight months after a knee reconstruction, collected 16 disposals (12 kicks and four handballs) in 80 minutes of game time. Zebras coach Simon McPhee described Gwilt's comeback game as "a bit rusty".

Farren Ray (25 disposals), Jason Gram (20) and Beau Wilkes (two goals) were among the best for the Zebras.

Two last quarter goals from Western Bulldogs cult-figure Zephaniah Skinner helped the Seagulls repel a last-quarter Zebra challenge to win, 15.11 (101) to 11.16 (82).

■Reigning premier Port Melbourne remains the only undefeated team and is two wins ahead of the rest of the competition after round five.
