The VFL Senior fixture for Season 2004 has been released. Round One starts off with Box Hill and Port Melbourne in the ABC Match of the Day and the majortiy of games being played on the Sunday.

Bendigo start the season with a bye.

The Werribee Football Club have now entered their third week of pre season training, under Senior Coach Barry Prendergast and new Fitness Adviser Steven Kretiuk. Kretiuk, will also play for the club next season.

The Springvale Sting, the Scorpions website says that the club is hopeful of several ex-Springvale players, rejoining the club for 2004. Shane Smith, Daniel Rigg, Matt Lewison, and Brett Trollope are all possibilities.

The following players have been cleared to train with AFL clubs in the lead-up to the Pre-Season Draft.

The Tigers have appointed the position of General Manager to Des Ryan.

Ryan, who played football with Frankston after leaving Richmond, has more recently been involved with Richmond, working as their Sponsorship Manager.

Several players from the VFL were picked up in this years National AFL Draft. With the pre-season draft traditionally being the draft that most clubs pick more mature-age players, it is a good indication of the skills going around in the VFL.

The Springvale website reports that former Collingwood premiership player, Graham Wright, will be the 'vales Senior coach for season 2004. Graham coached locally in the EDFL with the North Ringwood club during seasons 2002 and 2003.
