A RENEWED challenge is set — North Ballarat Roosters coach Gerard FitzGerald has called on his players to rebound strong in a bid to crack 'The Streak'.
FitzGerald says Port Melbourne's winning streak has to break some time and has rallied his players to try and snap Port's history-making charge next week.

BENDIGO Gold scored a resounding 71-point victory against Casey Scorpions in yesterday’s Victorian Football League fourth round.

The 20.17 (137) to 9.12 (66) result meant Gold, which has a 2-1 record, jumped to fourth place on the ladder.

Bendigo blitzed in the second and fourth quarters at Casey Fields in Cranbourne.

DESPITE a 22-goal thrashing at the hands of Werribee, Burnie coach Brent Plant predicts the TSL can compete with the VFL in the state game on May 26.

The Dockers, last year's TSL runners-up and undefeated this season, were beaten by 133 points in Saturday's Foxtel Cup by the VFL Tigers at Etihad Stadium.

Many predict a similar outcome when the TSL hosts the VFL at Bellerive Oval.

A FOUR-goal haul to former St Kilda rookie Khan Haretuku could not save Frankston from a 32-point loss to Geelong at Simonds Stadium on Saturday.
The Dolphins remain winless after four rounds but have shown positive signs in the past fortnight with a one-point loss to Casey followed by the 12.9 (81) to 17.11 (113) loss.

North Ballarat Roosters have been outclassed a third time at home this Victorian Football League season.

A 52-point loss to Williamstown adds to the Selkirk Roosters' hometown woes at Eureka Stadium.

The Roosters have chalked up one win from four matches this season - their sole victory was claimed in round three at Collingwood's Victoria Park.
