CARLTON is not taking over the Northern Bullants despite conceding naming rights, club colours and shifting an extra home game to the Blues base, says Ants president Stephen Papal.

Papal confirmed the Ants will be known as the Northern Blues next year and could wear a navy blue jumper in as many as 15 of 18 matches.

This time the Selkirk Roosters will play the Victorian Football League clash on their home turf.

Port edges spirited Sandy

It was all about Ryan McMahon's 200th senior match for Port Melbourne.

Reserves players from Port and Sandringham formed a guard of honour as "Shooter" he ran on TEAC Oval on Saturday and cameras flashed as he breasted a banner.

But after an uncertain start Sandy threatened to turn celebrations for McMahon into commiserations.
