PORT Melbourne coach Gary Ayres believes the result today against Williamstown will not measure which is the best team in the competition, despite the much-anticipated battle between the competition heavyweights at Avalon Airport Oval in Werribee.
Despite the Borough's 15 consecutive wins and undefeated status, Ayres was adamant his team would still be improving right up to September.

THE Bendigo Bank Bombers’ future remains undecided.
Essendon yesterday forwarded its submission to AFL Victoria as part of its review into the future structure of the VFL.
Essendon’s submission is expected to declare its intention to split from its alignment with Bendigo.

PRESTON’S beloved Bullants will be stripped down and barely sighted with the once-proud, independent Victorian Football League club to be engulfed by its AFL partner.
The newly branded Northern Blues will concede their name, colours and a further home match to Carlton Football Club’s Visy Park, with only three VFL matches to be played at Preston’s City Oval in 2012.
