From the Whitehorse Leader

A MAJOR $2 million revamp of the Box Hill City Oval can go ahead after a budget boost from the State Government.

Sports Minister James Merlino visited the oval last week to announce $600,000 would be put towards the project, which would provide a covered spectators area, improved coaches' boxes, a new canteen and an upgraded cricket pavilion.

Mr Merlino, a "mad-keen" Hawks fan, said the investment would make Box Hill an economically sound club that could provide a pathway for junior players to progress through the ranks.

"This is not just beneficial for the football club or the cricket club this is going to be beneficial for youngsters right across the region," he said.

METRICON Bendigo Bombers chairman Ian Dyett is confident the VFL club is viable long-term despite the sudden departure of its third general manager in 12 months.

Jeff Brennan resigned as Bombers general manager on Monday night, just six months after taking up the role.

His decision to quit comes less than than 12 months after Matthew Allan resigned as general manager.

Peter Lodewijks took over from Allan as general manager, but he was then replaced by Brennan in November last year.

Lodewijks, who remains on the Bombers board, will return to the acting general manager’s role once Brennan leaves the club on Friday.

TWO TIPSTERS PICK ALL SEVEN WINNERS

Only two tipsters picked all seven winners for the round. Con Milonas and Bomber fan Darren Tudor. Con selected 202 points for the aggregate score with Darren picking 228 points. The aggregate score was 189 points (Coburg 121 v Collingwood 68). Con picks up $30.
Another $30 will go to the tipster who selects 7 winners for this week's matches. If more than one tipster selects seven winners the tipster nearest the aggregate score will collect. If no tipster picks seven it will jackpot to $60 to Round 7.

AGGREGATE SCORE MATCH THIS WEEK

This week's aggregate score match will be the ABC match between Casey Scorpions v Collingwood at Casey Fields. Tipster nearest the aggregate score will collect $40.

STILL TWO LEADERS WITH HUGE BACK JUST BEHIND

Two tipsters Paul Saints an old Waverley Panthers supporter he has told me with yours truly lead the pack with 33 winners. Bobby Borough a Port diehard just trails with 32 winners. There are eight tipsters on 31 winners with another five tipsters on 30 winners.
A couple of interesting games this week could sort out a few of the tipsters.
