I watched Williamstown play Tassie at Devonport and Williamstown v tassie at York park Launceston. Have also watched a few local games at east Devonport, ulverstone, north Hobart and glenorchy. Been to 3 afl games im tassie. Richmond v hawthorn at Launceston 2006, Richmond v north Melbourne 2015, 2016 at bellerieve oval.
Well it's not a given yet - the stadium still has to be approved by the upper house in Tasmanian Parliament and apparently too many are presently on the fence at best. And that loudmouth Jacqui Lambie is sticking her oar in trying to stop the stadium claiming Tasmania doesn't need it. I gave it to her on her FB page (and last I checked it's still there) and no reaction from her to facts about how good it would be for the state and not just for football!
Well with the federal election coming up I think both parties should try and get rid of Andrew Wilkie in Clark. He started the BS about Macquarie Point costing way more than listed. The other four seats in the House are split - two Labor and two Liberal. Bass and Braddon are changing every election no matter what at the moment. But the big one for me is in the Senate. Jacqui Lambie is up and she has to go as do the Greens. Both are pushing all 11 home games at York Park and that's an insult to Hobart. A truly state team has to play in both Hobart and Launceston.
He was misled on the drug thing. Nothing came of it because Joel Smith's father Shaun was trying to undermine the investigation into his son's activity - and it got him nowhere. He is equally useless on the gambling side. Where are the changes? Nowhere - because he is not effective. And he lies - as he has with Macquarie Point. He has to go.

if there are any marginal seats in Tassie the ALP and Libs/NP may chuck money at it if they think there are votes in it

Wilkie was the bloke who exposed the AFL's hypocrisy in respect of drug testing and also has an admirable stance on the scourge of gambling
