Was speaking to a friend of mine 'The Artful Dodger' who informed me of this 'comical' situation. I sincerely hope that this is untrue because it is an absolute joke.
In Round 1 of the AFL season it was the last practice match for the 'VFL'.
Murphy got reported whilst representing the Box Hill Hawks against Port. He decided to take the 1 week suspension therefore ruling him out of Hawthorn's Round 2 match. As Box Hill Hawks seniors had the bye, a lot of the Hawthorn listed players played in Box Hill Hawks seconds. Because Murphy could not represent Hawthorn then one would assume that his suspension had been served. Right? WRONG!
He was seen to be ineligible this weekend for Hawthorn and the Box Hill Hawks, therefore he has actually served a two week suspension.
