Vale Sam Landsberger
Body:

It’s with deep sadness to announce that popular Herald Sun Sports Journalist Sam Landsberger has been tragically killed in an accident this morning. He wa 35

Sam was a brilliant  sports journalist writing particularly in football and cricket circles. Most recently you may have seen his tweets of emoji schedule for Olympic Games.

I first met Sam around 20 years ago with my work with Richmond Cricket Club in premier cricket and then of course with Frankston Football Club when he was a cadet. We would speak regularly especially over social media. He was an outstanding person and great at what he did.

I would like to send my condolences to his family, friends and work colleagues  I know everyone in VFL community will be thinking of you at this sad time.

If you have any memories or would like to leave any messages please do so in the comments

RIP Sam Landsberger .You will be missed.

I only just heard the news. Devastating. During Sam's time as a journalist he spent quite some time covering the VFA/VFL.

I think back to the time when Clinton Grybus also died suddenly.

A huge loss to the wider football community.

* It's time to restore the VFA name.

Bugger. Horrible news. He seemed to be such a genuine fella and had a passion for VFL when he was covering it.
