The round 2 game Tassie v Port.. Any idea what city/ground that will be played at? I'm keen to look for flights.

No they rated pretty well and brought a whole bunch of viewers who previously wouldn’t watch the VFL. The issue was doing it on a budget. Channel 7 tried to stick to the budget by using northport as their dedicated broadcast venue but thanks to the backlash from some (predominantly stand alone) clubs channel 7 caved in and played games elsewhere and blew the budget well out of the park. Now due to the tainted experience of attempting to keep costs down by playing at a central venue they are opting to no longer go down this path and as a result of the clubs who kicked up a stink we get nothing. Congratulations to those clubs, instead of getting something we now get nothing.

Hopefully the abc can pick it up. I have a feeling if things stay the same none of the standalones will be left in 10 years

NorthPort, I've read that Tassie's home games will be divided between Hobart and Launceston, with one game in a third location, so the game against Port Melbourne could be in any of those locations. According to the article I read, their first home game, against Coburg, is expected to be in Hobart, but the article didn't say anything about a site for their second home game.

The AFL claims there will be no changes to the format of the VFL competition for the next 5 years, and if that's a promise of anything it sounds like a promise of changes in 5 years, which will presumably be for the worse.... I'm concerned that giving the independent sides 10 years may be an optimistic prediction.

I know the idea of a breakaway is just that but theres never been a time when it’s needed as much as now I honestly think it might be the only way forward we are screwed any way atleast theres a chance that way
