Body:
Just watched a bit of the VFL game from today on tape. Phil Cleary says Bendigo made 9 changes from last weeks side, 7 of them came in the form of AFL players.
It seems to me that although the 12/10 rule has sharpened things up considerably when it comes to evenness between sides, one problem still remains - the clash of the AFL Round 22 with the first week of VFL finals. It still creates a problem where all VFL finals clubs can choose from entire AFL lists, that some clubs are without players in Week 1 who they will get back in Week 3 etc etc.
Common sense says the seasons should align, and the VFL Grand Final be played on the Sunday after the AFL Grand Final.
What are peoples thoughts?
