After the shock defeat to the Dolphins in the previous practice match Port Melbourne bounced back to score a convincing win against a lacklustre Box Hill. Port dominated around the ground after a tight first quarter, with new addition Jeremy Dukes finishing with 5 for the game. David Robbins was excellent in the midfield.
Box Hill fielded 10 AFL listed players and 2 rookies, but did not seem to gel on the day. In contrast, Port Melbournes handball and general play looked far sharper. I tipped Box Hill as a possible top 4 side prior to this game, I hope they improve markedly or I could look pretty silly making that prediction. Kris Shore did not play either Seniors or Reserves.
The Borough's reserves side won again, and look a cohesive unit that may challenge regular VFL Reserves finalists Williamstown for a shot at the two's flag.
