Agreed it’s a joke and just dumb business from the afl because it would get better crowds in Victoria because theres no footy. But gotta give it to south Australias to please em

Once again, it's difficult to plan for the season ahead and getting along to interstate games.

Last year Port played a few interstate trips early in the season and by the time the fixture came out, flights were prohibitively expensive.

Assuming the season starts the same weekend as AFL round 2 I think the fixture will be released on 20/3.

I week before the season begins ? Surely not - how are we meant to book flights accommodation for our round one encounter with that short notice which seems to have us often play in Queensland

Williamstown unlucky to have the round 3 bye, meaning they'll have 2 byes in a row and 3 full weeks between games. Glad Port Melbourne avoided that this season (and hopefully don't end up with the round 4 bye...) - while there's no excuse for how badly we played against Essendon last season, I don't think having two byes in a row helped matters.

I expect they are since they're playing a full season according to their website. They've had some good signings, too - will be interesting to see how competitive they are.
