Firstly the cheerleaders...
Definately poor that they danced in the middle of the ground at half time. At least should have given a few hundred fans a closer look by dancing closer to the fence. :D
In all seriousness, if that's what the VFL label as 'entertainment' having five or six cheerleaders on Grand Final day doing some lame routine in the middle of the ground with blaring music echoing through the PA then they might want to go back to the drawing board. Yet another marketing disaster by the VFL I would have thought.
Didn't see the superboot competition this year either, scrubbed was it?
We're seeing crowds of no more than 9000 turn up to the Grand Final, can anything be done to draw a bigger crowd or is it a lost cause? It was great footy, hard and tough at the end.
The ABC coverage is great for the VFL all season, don't get me wrong, but it does hold the crowd back on Grand Final day. Why are families going to come to the VFL and spend $50+ at the start of the school holidays with the Show and so many other events on, when they can see such a good telecast on TV for nothing? But no TV means no exposure for advertisers etc so it is pretty much a revolving circle.
