VFL Round 3 tipping update

After 3 rounds there is finally an outright leader on 15 tips. Rick Dennis who was an avid Moorabbin fan in the days of Max Papley and Lindsay Fox. Don't forget to watch the Local Footy Show this Friday night on Channel 31 as you will see an interview with Lindsay Fox as well as highlights from the 1963 VFA Grand Final between Moorabbin v Sandringham. Rare footage indeed. In equal second place are Brad Jamison a previous winner in the vfl tipping a few seasons ago, Frankston supporters Dave Hardiman and Felicia Holland as well as zebra fan Phil 'Yobbo' Clark. They are one 14 tips and one behind the old Moorabbin relic Rick Dennis.

NO TIPSTER PICKS SEVEN WINNERS YET AGAIN

It was hard yakka for most tipsters with the most being five by Phil 'Yobbo' Clark a zebra fan from the days of the old CAN HILL mob. Phil was watching Sandy in the days of 'Goose' McKenzie, Ian 'Humpa' Cooper, Alfie Beus, Marty Lyons and Bob Murray. Most tipsters managed one or two winners with quite a few upsets. The seven winners jackpots to $90 for this weeks round. Make sure you get your tips in. If no tipsters picks seven this week it will jackpot to $120 to the following week. If more than one tipster selects seven winners the jackpot will go to the tipster nearest the aggregate score for the ABC game between Box Hill v North Ballarat clash from Box Hill City Oval. Special mention to Alan Schuback who picked a duck egg. Thanks god for Port Melbourne winning otherwise my kiss of death tips would have picked zero.

Gold Coast v WerribeeWERRIBEE played out a thrilling draw against the Gold Coast under lights on Saturday night at Chirnside Park.

After a disappointing 46-point loss away against Sandringham the previous week, the Tigers were looking to open their account for season 2010 against a Gold Coast team brimming with young talent.

The Coasters' youth and enthusiasm shone through as they played a cleaner and more consistent brand of football to hold onto a 25-point lead at the first change.

Werribee was forced to play catch up football as the Gold Coasters continued to play a quick running style of play that featured accurate kicking to contests.

Accuracy in front of goal was also an issue for the Tigers as several easy shots were sprayed, allowing Gold Coast to lead by 22-points at half-time.

PORT Melbourne coach Gary Ayres said his team had shown plenty of "Borough spirit" to defeat Northern Bullants by five points in a pulsating contest at TEAC Oval yesterday.

Forward Adrian Bonaddio kicked only two goals but inspired Port in the third term with one of his trademark booming kicks from outside 50 to kickstart a five-goal onslaught.

FRANKSTON footy fans are eagerly awaiting the arrival of Ben Cousins on Sunday.

The AFL star will line up with the Coburg Tigers against the Frankston Dolphins at Frankston Park, along with fellow banished Richmond players Daniel Connors, Dean Polo and Luke McGuane.

The phones have been running hot at Frankston Football Club over the past few days as fans seek confirmation that Cousins will be in action.

Dolphins officials are bracing themselves for a bumper crowd and have ordered twice the usual amount of beer and food.

"We’ve ordered a heap more," Dolphins coach Simon Goosey said.

"I reckon we’ll get a few thousand (people) here. Heaps have rung up."

Goosey said it was likely a young Frankston player - either Mark Baguley, Mitch Bosward or Michael Hibberd - would tag Cousins.
