Port v Frankston - Rnd 8
Port Melbourne 3.2 7.2 10.4 16.7 (103) Frankston 1.6 4.10 9.13 12.15 (87) BEST: Port Melbourne: Gibson Schwarze Hazell Baird Pratt Robbins Frankston: Winterton Odell Ablett Anstey Ulms Roberts GOALS: Port Melbourne: Hazell 5 McIntosh 2 Pinwill 2 Schwarze 2 Pitt Gibson Lawrence Sansbury Bonaddio Frankston: Benbow 2 Berry 2 Roberts 2 Phibbs 2 McCormack Winterton Marigliani Pollard Lots of changes to the side, mainly due to injuries... Port went into the game with 9-13, their biggest Port Melbourne listed number so far this season. It was an ugly game of footy for 3 quarters, with port able to break free in the last to register an important win. Schwarze was good, after a couple of early errors, he really made up for it and also kicked an important goal, and set up many others. Gibbo was good in defense, and ran off his opponent to kick a goal. Baird was also solid in defense. Tim Hazell played as a leading forward, and lead and marked strongly on several occasions to finish with 5 goals... A good return to for him after some poorer performances further up the ground in previous weeks. Bonaddio made an ok debut and should hold his spot in the side. I thought Cotchett and R. McMahon were also good contributors. Clarke beat McIntosh in the ruck, and after a knock to the lower back, McIntosh spent most of his time in the goal square, with Bonaddio going into the centre. Shane Harvey didnt play in either game... is he injured? Trotter played a full game in the Reserves win. Gilham had a field day in the forward line, finishing with 9. Frankston are a decent side, and when they moved the ball quickly looked to play the better footy. I thought they maybe went a little, which is why they were a little inaccurate on the day. Port Melbourne 7.0 12.1 15.8 20.12 (132) Frankston 3.1 9.3 10.4 11.5 (71) BEST: Port Melbourne: Dwyer Gilham Ramsay Bloom Sharpe Smith Frankston: Cadd Barrand Black Barry Aravanis Morris GOALS: Port Melbourne: Gilham 9 Ramsay 4 Rudd 2 Henshaw Sharpe Allan Thomas Moran Frankston: Cadd 3 Morris 3 Matheson Falovic Barrand Black Brennan
