I'm also wondering that about Signorello. I would think he'd offer more up forward than Watson. It will be very interesting to see when he makes it back into the side.
McCartney highlighted the long kicks out of defence at quarter time and told the players to take a bit more time on them. Rosman and Hooper definitely kept up that good form for the whole game. I thought Graham, Hird, and Lazzaro had good games as well, and Wanganeen also did some really nice things (at one point saving a goal after an uncharacteristic miskick by Heppell, who was generally pretty good). Graham is really standing up in Highmore's absence, although it would have been great to have Highmore in addition. Cahill deserves mention as well for being our only multiple goalkicker. Coburg will be a tough opponent for our next home game regardless, but with the high scores they've been kicking, I really hope we have Manton and Farrant back by then (Farrant perhaps unlikely to return by then from a hamstring injury, though I don't know how severe it is, and "ankle injury" for Manton is pretty vague). North Melbourne's VFL side have been putting up some very high scores as well. It will be interesting to see how Werribee's defence handles them next week.
Got bad news for you Spiny, word on the northport terraces is that Manton our for roughly a month and a half.
Great fightback from.the lads, gave it their all but just couldn't hold on. Great to see the Port melbourne never say die attitude back, they gave it everything they had and that's all you can ask for. Not pleased with the result but pleased with the endeavour.

Well, thanks for the update on Manton, Mega. Bad news but hopefully the endeavour the playing group shows will get us better results in the coming games despite the weakened forward lines. Agreed that the endeavour was very pleasing despite the result.
I'm up to 3/4 time in the Port v Werribee game. God its a frustrating game to watch!
Werribee playing a lot of tempo footy and changing the angles, and Port kicking deep into the forward line not to our forwards advantage... going too deep rather than to space to lead into or at least hit a pack with some momentum to bring the ball to ground. I didn't mention that Lazarro was getting a ton of the ball early in the game and his form has been terrific. Hooper and Heppell both working hard across the ground too.
Graham's two speccies on the outer wing were bloody good. I'm hoping the final quarter is an enjoyable watch despite the result
