I don't think it is as bad as the Showgrounds shocker (2300) but it is pretty low but to get a decent VFL GF crowd there needs to be at least one AFL reserves team playing if not two.
Rent a crowd. I seen supporters like Carlton wearing their carlton tops with a gold coast cap. Disgraceful. Don't tell me they all flew from gold coast. Many people are sheep. Afl give clowns free tickets and either a free cap or scarf. Gold coast like GWS are an afl approved team. At least I watched a real game of footy yesterday. Watched Cheltenham beat Cranbourne by 3 points to win their first flag in top grade in 89 years. Amazing scenes at Moorabbin. Today werribee just fell a bit short. Shaun mannagh great game booting 6 goals. I am pretty much guttered. I always support the VFA teams over any AFL drivel especially the manafacutred teams. Werribee hold your head high and be proud. Not disgraced.
As you said VFA, Werribee can be mightily proud of their efforts. That third (premiership) quarter was a telling point in the game where GC were able to get away.
Congratulations to the Suns. They are a very polished unit.
It was interesting to see a 16 yo running around for Gold Coast. Something that hearkened back to the days of young Ron James playing for the Seagulls as a 14yo.
Why would the AFL go to that expense and not have team lists or produce a Record? doesn't make sense although the optics are better to have a few GC supporters on the TV
With no Records and team sheets it just goes to show how little interest the stooges at "AFL Victoria" in running this bastard of a child of a comp that is supposed to be the "State League"properly!
Even mickey mouse country leagues have Records and team sheets for their GFs!
BTW it did not look like 6 - 7000 on TV more like 4 - 5000 and there was at least twice as many the night before watching Carlton on a big screen.
I also have noticed the famous Liston Trophy is now a non event in the media and as I have said before the pathetic standard women's game is far more important than the current bastardised VFL at AFL HQ is.!
Just on the AFLW it is interesting how the ratings have fallen off a cliff this season now and with so many teams the standard has gone also backwards IMHO!
