Tough on-baller Luke Bunker, defender Jesse Corigliano, Billy Cannolo, Jackson McDonald and Adam Swierzbiolek will also be with the club in 2019.

General manager Seb Spagnuolo said Coburg was thrilled to announce the retention of 10 senior players before the end of the home-and-away season.

“To get the first 10 re-signings locked away prior to the end of the current season ensures that our club is in a great position,” he said.

McEvoy is the most experienced of the group, having kicked 59 goals from 45 matches during his time with Coburg.

Corigliano has been with the Lions since 2015, while Lowson, Cannolo and Bunker joined last year.

Lowson has booted 14 goals from 11 matches during a breakout season this year, while Cannolo has been a senior regular under coach Leigh Adams.

Developing tall Swierzbiolek has played four games since making his debut in May, while key defender Nolan has transitioned to the VFL with aplomb.

Spagnuolo said the Lions hoped to announce the retention of more players in coming weeks.

“Internally we have spoken about player retention as well as the continual improvement of the list and it’s something that we’re set out to achieve,” he said.

“These commitments get us off to a great start.”

The Lions have an opportunity to move off the bottom of the VFL ladder when they face Northern Blues on Saturday at Preston City Oval from 2pm.
