GEELONG has crashed out of the VFL finals series after going down to Box Hill by 34 points in yesterday's elimination final.

Despite a positive start, the Cats were run over the top of in the middle two quarters of the game, to have their season ended in the first week of September.

Thanks to all tipsters that took part in this seasons VFL tipping comp. Well done to Don 'Cgull' Quayle on a great effort to win the VFL tipping comp for 2009. There were 31 different tipsters that had a collect throughout the season. Thanks and look forward to the 2010 season where the Gold Coast will be joining the VFL comp which will no doubt add plenty of interest.

WILLIAMSTOWN showed plenty of character to shred Port Melbourne's record of 21 undefeated matches on its home turf with a 42-point win at TEAC Oval yesterday.

And while Collingwood was triumphant over Geelong by 38 points, North Ballarat came from behind against Sandringham to win by 26 points and remain in pole position heading into next week's finals.
