The article listing the top 5 in each VFL club's best and fairest has now been posted on the VFL website, so we have more information about Port Melbourne's results now. Cutting and pasting from the article:

1. Tom Hird – 249 votes
2. Harvey Hooper – 241
3. Dyson Heppell – 235
4. Charlie Lazzaro – 229
5. Josh Green - 198

The midfield is clearly well represented there. Hird played the first 9 games at halfback and then the last 9 in the midfield; Heppell played both midfield and halfback as well, though I don't remember how many games he played in each position (he started at halfback, then moved into the midfield, and finished at halfback again); Lazzaro played one game at halfback and the rest as a midfielder; and Hooper and Green played the whole season in the midfield. (The midfielders did rotate through the wing position as well, although Hird played wing rarely - I think he spent one quarter of one game there, plus a couple minutes in another game or two - and I think Green was not on the wing all that often either.) I'm curious as to where Tom Graham finished - I eventually decided to tip him to finish 5th and was predicting Green as 6th, so I'd be interested to know if I just had the order reversed or if my prediction was off by more than that.

Tom Hird has always been very consistent with his performances within a given season and really took his game to another level this year. Very glad he's re-signed.
