Time to tell the ABC to piss off?
Body:

It may be an unrealistic dream, but what chance would the VFL have of getting some form of coverage on Fox Sports? Fox show games from the NRL U20 competition, A league, NBL...you cant tell me the VFL wouldn't attract as many viewers. Besides they show a number of other sports which are less popular than Aussie Rules. Has the VFL explored whether Fox would be interested in broadcasting any VFL footy?

The ABC really give me the shits. Not only has their coverage of VFL gone downhill at a hundred miles an hour in the past three years, they've ditched valued replays of games on ABC2 and replaced it with a test pattern, and now have totally fucked up their website so you can't find any VFL related content whatsoever without digging around for half an hour.

Now they've decided to stick the Grand Final on some HD channel that few people have access to, and replay the game on their main channel at 10pm....and finish it at 1am.

ABC broadcasts are a nuisance, their involvement has caused fixture change after fixture change this year, they seem to cover some clubs over others (may as well call their coverage "Borough TV" they've been down at North Port so many times this year) and the 1.10pm Saturday starts might suit a few fans at home, but they rob clubs of crowds and the associated gate, food and drink takings.

The VFL would be far better having their competition on Fox Sports, where it would gain a national exposure.
