Glenelg seems like the right choice of venue. Unfourtunately being part of Gather Round meant it was always going to clash partially with an AFL game. I'm still happy to see it back, but in the future I'd like to see either the following happen:
1. Don't play it during Gather Round. Let the standalone clubs host games while there's no top-level footy in Melbourne, since the VFL will effectively be the highest tier of football in Victoria for a week.
2. Play it in Melbourne and try to draw in as many Victorian fans as possible while the AFL clubs are away, then share the revenue with the standalone clubs.
