I think Robbo is right - it is looking extremely doubtful of having a 2020 season. The government has hinted that we will be in lock down for 6 months therefore without any fans theirs no point of the stand alones playing and getting themselves into debt. This sentiment was also mentioned in the age by Port Melbourne new CEO - Paul Malcolm - article below.
The best solution would be playing a mini season with fans which would probably mean a October start date. Although its probably the only solution, its probably a bit too left field to be considered.

Spot on Billy. Safety comes first. If staying indoors for 6 weeks, 10 weeks or whatever it is i am all for it. Peoples health and safety comes first. Sure I love going to the footy, having a beer with mates at the pub and enjoying everything including having a punt at the races, playing my weekly beach volleyball game. Better safe than sorry. The clowns that arrogantly and selfishly defy the lockdown rule you deserve to be fined. Maybe that fine should go to the health workers. There is no time line for something like this. When the time is right we will get the all clear but still also have to be cautious. Tune in to ch31 local footy show from next week. There should be a fair bit on the old vfa in coming weeks and definitely worth watching.
Did anyone else hear Tom Brown say on Channel 7 news tonight that the VFL season is off? If so, is he just talking about the AFL clubs involvement or has the whole competition beeen abandoned for the season?
No news on the official VFL page and I checked a couple of facebook pages and nothing there either.
applies to AFL clubs only, not sure about aligned clubs, Willi have been advised by the AFL to ignore the Tom Brown report
Ignore Tom Browne, story is not correct
no decision has been made, let's wait and see but I am still confident we will play this year
Tom Browne a deer with no eyes ??
Take the quinella with Damien Barrett
Goose of the year award with those two the odds would be shorter than yul brynner's hair LOL
Throw in Lachie Hunter and you've got the trifecta!
