Sam_pleming_rd3_rc04_2Frankston travel to North Port Oval to take on the Borough this weekend in Round Six, and ABC TV Grandstand will be there to bring you all the action live on Saturday from 1pm on ABC1 in Victoria.

And as well as all the regular action, Phil Cleary will this week take you inside the coaches box with Gary Ayres for a special look at what it takes to be a VFL senior coach during a game.

Their Round Three blemish against the Bullants aside, Port have been in good form at the start of Season 2009, a first-up thrashing of North Ballarat in the Grand Final replay signalling their intentions to go one better this season.

And after backing it up with a hard-fought Round Two win over Casey, the Borough went 3-1 with a two-goal victory over the Cats, before having last week off.

Box Hill Hawks slow to get out of blocks againBen McGlynn was missing from the Box Hill line-up after earning a recall to the Hawthorn AFL side last week. MARK FRECKER. s43wh60

BOX Hill Hawks coach Brendon Bolton expressed concerns about another slow start after his team lost its VFL clash to Collingwood by 56 points at Princes Park on Saturday.

The Hawks kicked just one goal in the opening quarter, to trail by 36 points at quarter-time, and they were never able to bridge the gap.

Without midfielder Ben McGlynn, who was recalled to the Hawthorn line-up, the Hawks lost 18.16 (124) to 11.2 (68).

“The last couple of games we started a little slow and it’s an area we’ve got to focus on for this week for sure,” Bolton said.

“I thought a lot of our intensity was low and we had a low tackle count.

VFL Tipping update

AGGREGATE SCORE

Five tipsters picked nearest the aggregate score which was 184 points for the Round 5 clash between Sandringham 89 v Northern Bullants 95 (total 184). Mildura based Bendigo bombers fan Simon 'Gibbo' Gibson selected 183 points. Box Hill diehard Laurie 'Kick it to Hogg' Holmes selected 185 points as did longtime borough fan Mic Rees, bullants fan Adam 'Beachy' Beach and another old borough who also played with Heidelberg and Warburton Milgrove Denis Lacy. The five tipsters each collect $8. Enough for a can of spirit at the footy. The five tipsters were all one point shy off the aggregate score.

The next ABC match of the day aggregate score will be the Round 7

clash between Box Hill v Franklston which will be played at the Box

Hill City Oval. Tipster nearest the aggregate score will collect $40.

LEADERS BOARD

Don 'Cgull' Quayle shares the lead with old Mustang Glen Barnard as well as an old Cobra fan and now Borough Keith Lumley. The trio have picked

22 winners. Just behind on 21 winners are old Preston Bullant Arthur and Stanley 'Digger' Roberts a North Ballarat roosters stalwart.

THREE TIPSTERS PICKS SIX

Tipster who selects six winners for Round 6 will collect $30. If more than one tipster picks six winners, the tipster nearest the aggregate score for the Port Melbourne v Frankston clash will collect $30. If no tipster picks six it will jackpot to the following round. There were no six winners jackpot this week as there were only five matches played.
