Fallen AFL star Ben Cousins plans to register with VFL side Port Melbourne by next Monday as he keeps his football options open. Cousins doubts he will play in the VFL this year, but wants to enter into more specific football training.

In an interview tonight on Channel Nine\'s The Footy Show, Cousins said he would probably move from Perth and live in the Port Melbourne area.

Cousins, who also turns 30 on Monday, said he was "not sure" if he wanted to return to the AFL next season.

"I want to do a bit more football-specific training, see how the body feels ... I don\'t want to come back and slip up again," he said.

BEN Cousins seems destined to sign with Port Melbourne this year.

An announcement on Cousins\' future is expected today, although it\'s not clear if he will only train -- and not play - in preparation for a stunning comeback in the AFL in 2009.

It\'s understood Cousins, who has done a deal to speak tonight on The Footy Show, will say he is fit and healthy and ready to take the first steps to return to the AFL arena.

Port Melbourne in the VFL and East Perth in the WAFL are understood to be Cousins\' preferred destinations.

ABC TV’s Head of Sport Iain Knight today announced that the ABC will cover live on ABC1 (free to air) the VFL Grand Final to be held on AFL Grand Final Eve at Telstra Dome on Friday, September 26.

AFL Victoria Chief Executive Officer Peter Schwab congratulated the ABC on their decision to show the VFL Grand Final live.

“Since our decision to celebrate Australian Football’s 150th birthday by holding a ‘Celebration of Victorian Football’ on AFL Grand Final Eve featuring the TAC Cup and VFL Grand Finals, we have been working with the ABC to formulate a broadcast strategy for the VFL Grand Final,” Schwab said.

“In a bold move, the ABC will contribute to our celebrations of ‘150 years of Australian Football’ by replacing a number of its popular Friday night programs with coverage of the VFL Grand Final from 7.30pm.

No tipsters picked seven winners with the highest being five winners for the round. Tipsters who failed to submit their tips got away teams. In an amazing feat all seven away teams got up to win. Those lucky tipsters were recorded with seven winners but are not eligible for the weekly prize as they did not submit their tips The weekly seven winners prize will jackpot to $60 to Round 12.

A few weeks back in Round 8 all home teams won. Spare a thought for Bulldog and Seagull supporter first year VFL tipster Pauline Zahra. She failed to submit her tips for Round 8 thus receiving all the away teams.

All home teams won so she got zero winners. For round 11 Pauline picked all the away teams, just her luck all away teams won thus receiving zero again. At least het teams Williamstown (top in the vfl ladder) and the Bulldogs (second on the afl ladder) are keeping her happy.

AGGREGATE SCORE WINNERS FOR THIS WEEK

Scotty Archibald and Geoff Langdale Share this weeks prize. The Aggregate score for the round was 177 points (Tassie Devils 56 Werribee 121).
The weekly $40 goes to Scotty Archibald and Geoff Langdale who each collect $20.

The unlucky Pauline Zahra was one point off with a score of 175 points.

Others that were close but no cigar include Ben a happy Werribee fan who had 175 points as did ex Port Melbourne, Heidelberg and Warburton/Millgrove player Denis Lacy. Also just missing out with 179 points were Zebra Dave, old Brunswick fan Shane 'Wicker' Ryan and cat fanatic Mark Rasmussen. The next round for the aggregate score is the Round 13 clash between Port Melbourne v Bendigo on July 5.

LEADERS BOARD

Yours truly back in front with 60 tips two ahead of Paul Saints 'Martinez' on 58 winners. In equal third spot include happy Port fan Bobby Borough, Casey Radio's Kain Pollard and old Northcote Dragons fan Parry who are each on 56 winners. Plenty of rounds left for tipsters to catch as anything can happen in the next 9 rounds. My tips will be submitted when I send the VFL tips reminder on Friday.

GEELONG forward Tom Hawkins last night delivered a brutally honest assessment of his seven-goal performance in Geelong's 11-point VFL loss to the Northern Bullants at Skilled Stadium.

Hawkins, with 17 possessions and nine marks, was clearly the Cats' best yesterday providing a strong presence in attack.

But when asked whether he believed he would receive plaudits from the senior coaches for his performance, Hawkins was refreshingly candid.

Although he kicked seven goals and was labelled Geelong's best by Tudor, Hawkins admitted he would not take a great deal of satisfaction from the match.
