Box Hill Hawks

JASON COOK

Great to see Jason Cook get his chance and grab it, good to have a vfl listed player who shapes as a key forward, as opposed to having a revolving door of afl key forwards. You need to build teams around key vfl players, you can't rely on afl players, they can get called up at any stage. I know Cook's not "there" yet, but has kicked 3,3 and 2 in his first three matches, and taken some strong marks, and unlike some vfl players, seemed confident in his ability as soon as he came in to the seniors. Hope he can hold his spot and become a key player for the club over the next few years.

Box Hill v Sandy

Due to Easter celebrations and festivities, i was only able to wander down for the first half, but i got a fair picture of how the match went. Hate to say it, but Nick Sautner really is looking quite good. Sure he got a couple of easy ones, including a free we stupidly gave away, sure he took a dive, but we just shouldn't have gone near him, but he did take a couple of impressive grabs, especially in the pocket during the second term. Sandy just looked so strong, and it's pretty much their VFL players leading the way.

16 Hawthorn players cleared to play

Max Bailey Matthew Ball Tim Boyle Campbell Brown Xavier Ellis Peter Everitt Stephen Gilham Ben Kane Matt Little Ben McGlynn Harry Miller Thomas Murphy Travis Tuck Shane Crawford Lance Franklin Jordan Lewis This AFL rest week is becoming a bit of a joke.. I thought the special clearance was to give those with a seriously interrupted pre-season a chance to play a match. Surely Hawthorn couldn't have had 16 payers from their list of 38 out of action.

Practice match BHH vs Geelong

Hope this gets through to the 'thousands' of fans who are making the trip down Geelong Rd this Saturday to watch Box Hill take on Geelong in the seniors and Grovedale in the ressies... Geelong have requested and early start to 'avoid the heat'. The ressies will now kick off at 10.00am and the seniors at 12.30pm.
