Box Hill Hawks

Box Hill .... what's the deal?

How’s this for departures over the last two years; Clinton Alleway (captain), Tim Harvey (vc?), Daniel Breese (vc?), Trevor Batchelor, Andrew Buckenara, Steve Bailey, Ben Neagle, Stephen Kenna (3 yrs), Doug Scott, Andrew Pugsley, Chris Wilson, and with some of the boys, Rudolph, Weinert and McGlynn seemingly keen to follow Collins to Coburg, just who is left?!? Above is the core of a fairly strong side, that we haven’t been able to keep! Add in B&F winner Stephen Greene, VFL player disguised as a Hawthorn player, and there’s not much left. You can’t rebuild EVERY YEAR!

Box Hill City Oval

In the Whitehorse leader, because the council okayed Box Hills use of the ground 7 months instead of 6, the VFL is now chipping in to bring the ground up to standard. There's going to be a new social club on the new club rooms, the old presidents room will be demolished, the entrances will be revamped, and they said that shelter would e built over the stands! Not sure exactly what they last one meant, perhaps they mean over the terrace, or the grassy hill. And the practise wicket will be off the ground too! Sounds good.

Bali

Did anyone see Tim Harvey being interviewed on the news when Box Hill returned from Bali? Evidently they were only 50m or so away from the blast, and came home early. There was an article in the Sun as well. They said that because of happy hour drinks, that was the only reason that they weren't closer to the blasts. Hope all the boys are alright, bit close to home!

Andy Collins gone

Andy Collins has stepped down as coach of Box Hill. Joined Cricket Victoria or something. That's a shame, he was really developing something, and i think it needed a few more years. Hopefully they pick the best coach, one who'll continue using talent from the EFL. Wonder if Hawthorn or Box Hill will make the choice? Maybe Gerald Fitzgerald. Nah, don't think he'd like the trip out.
