Box Hill Hawks

What's Going ON?

Just want to know who's going to be staying on at Box Hill from last year? I know Pugs and Benny Neagle have gone, and i heard Rixy's playing for Coburg. What about Alla, Harvey, Bailes and Breeseey? Haven't heard anything on those guys, think they're pretty important for the team. Hopefully Tayls and Heighty will get a fair bit of time with us. Heard about a few sons of Hawthorn players are gonna play. Any recruits of any note? That's all. Just wanted to know.

Hawthorn Practice game 11th Feb.

Seven Box Hill boys had a run in the Hawthron practice match at Princes Park this morning. Brendan Weinert , Sam Rudolph , Paul Jolley , Ben McGlynn , Nick Kane and new boys Evan Johnson and James Ivory all acquitted themselves well with perhaps Kane , McGlynn and Rudolph the better of the bunch. I'm sure all the boys will be better for the run in senior company , albeit an intra club. Well done guys. P.S. Both the Box Hill recruits Simon Taylor and Kristan Height showed that they have indeed slipped very nicely into the next level.

Congrats Simon Taylor

As a blatant rip-off of onslaughts thread, I'd like to congratulate Tall Jarman on being drafted by the Hawks after coming across the Bass Straight. I personally thought we'd rookie list him at best, but there ya go. Onya Tayls. Saddened Bailey didn't get picked up. Perhaps a club will look at him for the PSD. Hope others like Rudolph are seriously considered for the rookie list.

Simon Taylor - punctured lung.

http://hawthornfc.com.au/default.asp?pg=news&spg=display&articleid=177481 Box Hill Hawks ruckman Simon Taylor suffered a setback to his AFL National Draft ambitions this week when he was admitted to hospital with a punctured lung. Bad luck for Tayls. I still reckon Hawthorn will draft him onto the rookie list, but he is robbed of the chance to further impress the Hawks coaches. :( Unfortunate blow for the man once labelled Tall Jarman by a small contingent of the Box Hill crowd.

B&F.

Was an extremely enjoyable night. Will be a certain attendee next season too. The news of Andy Collins re-signing got a very good response from the crowd of approximately 180 people. He started a completely different culture at Box Hill compared to previous seasons and it's only right that he continues that assignment in '05. Bailey was a deserving winner. Quiet achiever that was one of the most consistent and influential all year.

Bo Nixon

At last , we get something BACK from Willy. Hawthorn has just received Collingwood youngster Bo Nixon in a deal involving draft picks. He'll obviously be spending time at Box Hill to start with so here's hoping he shows something to counter the flow of experienced personnel going the other way...Simon Lloyd , Rayden Tallis etc.
