The Sandringham / StKilda disaster alignment!

After winning 8 premierships between 1985 and 2006 the Sandringham FC board decided to leave the MFC and join with the perennial losers St Kilda in 2009 since that time 14 years to be exact Sandringham have appeared in 3 finals and one on PF and by any measure a very poor result!

That's why I'm calling out the joining with one of the  VFL/AFLs worst Victorian Clubs in both success and club culture as a disaster for the Sandringham FC!

FFS St Kilda  have 27 wooden spoons and ONE Preimership in 140 years - says it all about them.

Unfortunately because St Kilda are such a shit club and have destroyed Sandy and brought them down to their down to their level I don't see any success for the Zebras any time soon and support for the Sandringham to keep on dropping if that is possible!

Maybe it is only time before the once mighty Sandrinhan FC become the Sandringhan Saints or even worse the Southern Saints like the VFL women's team already is.

I just heard the the pathetic St Kilda has sacked a pretty good coach in Brett Ratten and so it goes on for the bastard child of the VFL/AFL!

They way they are going it will be another 100 years before they win their second flag!

Pity some of those past players from the early 2000s when Sandy were up and about haven't got on board to mount a challenge. The Zebras announced they were going standalone quite a few years ago and the players were on board. Then the club back flipped and have never looked forward since.

A minor thing, but is Jack Barkers plaque still on the fence? The last time I walked past where he used to sit on the fence, I couldn't find it at all.

I hope to Christ that the money hungry mongrel Ross Lyon does not get the Saints coaching job - he had no interest in Sandy or the St Kilda players playing in a supposed Sandringham Team when he coached them.last time!

It will be interesting to see if Batchelor keeps his coaching job at Sandy but I now suspect it doesn't matter who coaches the St Kilda seconds. anymore!

If St Kilda go back to Ross Lyon (the bloke who walked out on them and fled to WA) then they will become an even bigger laughing stock than they are now - the game has passed him by and, unless his coaching style changes, he will take them backwards if he has them playing the style of football that he employed when he was the coach previously.

They also have a very ordinary list as well and would need at least another 5 A Grade players to even make the 8 Wally so good luck going back to Lyon.

good luck getting 5 A-graders to go to that 'basket case',  as it was described by a former Essendon player whose son had the misfortune to get drafted by the Saints

I think it is a done deal no doubt Lyon would be haggling over the fee!

He was supposedly on a Million PA at Fremantle so I doubt he would want less at the mediocre Saints.

The cat who got the cream smirk he had on his dial coming out of the Saints Presidents House said it all to me.

Blackrocker It looks like you and me are the last of the Zebra Mohicans on this forum.

Your not alone there, we used to have several more Port Melbourne fans however a few said they prefer posting on exclusive Port Melbourne Facebook forums as they got tired of the constant stirring of Borough fans on here.

Personally I didn't think it was over the top (perhaps it was before my time) but to each their own
