THE clubs were calling it a crunch game and the clash between Casey Scorpions and Box Hill at Casey Fields on Sunday lived up to its promotion.
The Hawks won their first match at the venue by 15 points after trailing at each break by a single-digit margin.
Both sides went in with two wins and two losses and were determined to get into the positive and stay in touch with the top eight.
The physicality of the contest - there were 130 tackles - and the missed opportunities at goal were the hallmarks of this match.
The tackle count, according to both team’s statisticians, resulted in one almost every minute, showing another trend in the VFL emulating the AFL.
